Meetings
The Heartland Highland Cattle Association annual meeting/gathering had great attendance with members from AR, IL, KS, LA, MO, OK, and TN. It was held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Quality Inn in Branson, MO There was a reception and registration beginning at 11:30 with a speaker, Dona Funk, from the University of MO speaking on AI and heat synchronization. Attendees enjoyed the presentation and asked many questions. The annual meeting was held with election of officers and Board of Directors. Officers of the HHCA are President John Jenkins, Auburn, KS;
Vice-Pres. Deb McGehee, Pineville, MO; Sec./Treas. Gloria Asmussen, Tunas, MO
New Board member is Linda Betterton of Choctaw, OK and re-elected is Tom Thompson, Pocahontas, IL.
The membership decided to continue advertising in small farm and agricultural journals, having a fundraiser using the donated items received from members and businesses.
Promotion and educational seminars will continue with farm field days and other events throughout the year.
It was motioned to have the 2009 HHCA meeting in Branson.
Mark you calendar for Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Branson, MO next year!
The evening banquet was held at Landry's Seafood Restaurant where members enjoyed an excellent dinner. Following the banquet members enjoyed networking and visiting.
Rumors told, three members sold and traded some Highlands as well.
